Gibson Kerr is supporting two schemes to encourage people to think about making a charitable donation in their will.
The first, called ‘Love the arts, Leave to the arts’, will run in February 2013. It, as the name suggests, focuses on art lovers, who will be able to make or amend a basic will free of charge if they leave a legacy to one of the arts charities taking part in the initiative.
Full details can be found on the Arts & Business Scotland website.
The second scheme is the ‘Remember A Charity’ campaign, which is trying to raise the profile of legacy giving around the country.
According to the charity, around 75% of British people regularly give to charity, but only 7% have made provision for a charitable donation in their estate planning. Remember A Charity hopes to increase this to 11%, which it says could generate an additional £1 billion for charities each year.
