Edinburgh based legal firm Gibson Kerr once again took part in charity initiative Will Aid last year, and helped raise much needed funds for some of the UK’s best known charities. In total, Gibson Kerr and our clients raised £335 for the 2013 campaign.
Will Aid is the UK’s leading charity will-writing scheme. It offers everyone the opportunity to make or update their Will in return for a donation to help people in need in the UK and all over the world. This money is shared by nine well-known UK charities: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).
We are particularly proud to have been involved in Will Aid’s 25th Anniversary campaign and to have been able to contribute such a healthy sum. The money we have raised will be added to the nationwide total, which currently stands at over £1.5million and is expected to exceed £2 million once all the money is in. This will be put to work to make a real and lasting difference to vulnerable children, families and older people in the UK and around the world.
The scheme runs again in November 2014 and will provide the opportunity for many more people in need of a Will to come forward to sort out their affairs and, at the same time, to support nine of the UK’s best loved charities.
