Gibson Kerr was among the Scottish law firms who took part in new legacy giving campaign “Love the arts, Leave to the arts” during February this year.
The scheme, hailed as a success by the Law Society of Scotland, aimed to encourage legacy giving to cultural charities in February. It gave art lovers the opportunity to have a will written free of charge if they pledged a legacy to their favourite arts company.
“This was an excellent initiative which we were delighted to support,” said Austin Lafferty, President of the Law Society of Scotland. “I’m very pleased that solicitors’ firms in different parts of the country, including my own, signed up and by offering free will writing services have been able to help local and national arts organisations.”
“Love the arts, Leave to the arts” is currently being evaluated with a view to it potentially becoming an annual campaign.
