Professional Experience
Lindsay has been with us since the start of her legal career in 2007, progressing to Partner and Head of our Personal Law Department. Lindsay is also the Regional Director for the Scottish Branch of Solicitors for the Elderly, a national organisation of lawyers who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, and a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She is also a notary public.
Lindsay’s work covers an extensive range of personal law matters including wills, powers of attorney, incapacity issues and guardianship orders, executry estates, and inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning. She has a particular interest in dealing with the legal issues affecting elderly clients and can provide advice in relation to the cost of care at home and care home fees. Her aim is to provide a professional and approachable service to clients, to help make the process of estate planning easier.
In 2017, Lindsay was awarded the STEP Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising with Distinction. This certificate has given her a better understanding of succession matters for clients who have family businesses.
